Rev. Joseph Chinnaiyan
Joseph Chinnaiyan was born in India as an orthodox Hindu and accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 13. At the early stage of his conversion Joseph felt the call of God strongly and committed his life to do full time ministry. After his initial training with Dr. Justin Prabakaran, Joseph moved to the UK to pursue his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Theology from Regents Theological College. He was also trained as a Counsellor and has completed various other studies like discipleship and leadership training.
Joseph was appointed as the Director of Training for Youth With A Mission - YWAM (an international inter-denominational mission organisation) for 3 years. He also served as a member of the board of the YWAM council for 3 years.
Joseph is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of New Hope Christian Centre in Smethwick, Birmingham since 1999. He is a man of audacious faith and an exceptional leader filled with God given vision and dreams. Since his appointment as the senior Pastor, he has taken New Hope church in a new journey and has seen positive changes which has contributed hugely to the growth of the church. He is a gifted preacher and teacher and has experience in more than 15 countries.
He is also the founder and visionary of Becoming Like Christ, a Global Tamil Christian Conference with a vision to equip and transform Tamil Churches in the UK, Europe and all over the world to become more like Christ. BLC is committed to equip pastors, christian leaders, believers, youth and children to be energised and equipped through various leadership seminars, workshops, resources and life transforming teachings.
Joseph is married to Elisabeth and they have 2 lovely sons, Joshua and Jacob.
